Town Court

Due to the rising COVID-19 cases in Indiana, the Pendleton Town Court will NOT hold court on January 27, 2021.  We will evaluate the COVID-19 situation in February and decide if it is safe to hold Court.  You may resolve your violation by visiting the website listed below and pay your fine or contact the court to schedule a court date when court resumes.  For those people who had a January hearing scheduled, the court will contact you with a date once we have resumed hearings.

When court resumes…

It is necessary for you to arrive at your scheduled time.  There will be a 10 minute sign-in period, after which the door to the courtroom will be closed and no one will be permitted to enter.  If you miss your scheduled court date or time you will NOT be able to enter, and your case will NOT be rescheduled.  Due to the backlog of cases to be heard, a judgment will be made on your case in your absence; you will be marked as Fail To Appear and appropriate fines will be assessed.

Normal court procedures will be modified to observe social distancing guidelines and for your health and safety. There will be only 10 people admitted into the court room during each assigned court session time.  If you miss your scheduled time you will NOT be able to enter during that court session or a later session.  If you arrive early, you will be required to wait outside until your assigned time.

When you arrive, you will wait outside the court door until the clerk begins the check-in process.  The Town Hall entrance will not be open during this time.  You will be asked a series of questions related to COVID-19 and your temperature will be taken with a non-contact thermometer. If you have a temperature above 100.4 degrees, you will not be able to enter, and your case will be rescheduled.

Upon entering the court, you will be directed to the court administrator for sign-in information and seat number.

Face masks or coverings will be required. One will be provided if you do not bring one.

You will be allowed to bring in only what is necessary; keys, paperwork pertaining to your case, etc. Please do not bring drinks/food, bags or purses with you, as they will not be permitted.

Due to limited space, you may NOT bring other people into the court room with you unless you are under 18 years of age.

If you do not receive information about your rescheduled appearance, please email the court at Provide your full name, date of birth, and contact information.

If you prefer to resolve your charge instead of making a court appearance, you may complete online payment or pay by money order.  See below for more information.
